  • Are you a brick-and-mortar store?

Nope - Lighten Up Bakeshop’s treats are made-to-order, and are available for purchase online-only for local delivery in NJ!

    Where can you deliver to?

We are currently delivering within Jersey City, Bayonne, and Hoboken.

    How can I order?

Orders are placed through our order form. You will know your order is confirmed once you receive a follow-up email from Lighten Up Bakeshop, typically within 24 hours.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payments through PayPal in our order form.

When/how will I get my order?

As of this time, all orders will be delivered directly to you! Delivery hours are typically between 10am-7pm.

Upon filling out the order form, you will be asked to schedule your preferred delivery day/time - we request that you place your order at least 3 days in advance from that date. We will notify you once we start preparing your order 3 days before your scheduled delivery date.

Can I pick up my order?

We do not offer pick-up at the moment, but TBD!

Sadly, I will no longer be available on the day of my scheduled delivery. Can I reschedule or cancel my order?

You can email us to reschedule or cancel your order up to 3 days before your scheduled delivery date. If rescheduling, please let us know your new delivery date/time (NOTE: Limit of 1 reschedule per order). If you need to cancel your order, we will refund your purchase accordingly. However, once you have been notified that we have started preparing your order, we will not accept schedule changes and/or cancellations after that point.

Do you take larger or custom orders?

Yes, we can! Please let us know your inquiry through the contact form, and we'll follow-up with our feedback, such as the order details and pricing. Depending on the quantity and complexity of the inquiry, it will likely take more time than the standard order turnaround, so please let us know ahead of time (the earlier the better!).

Lighten Up Bakeshop reserves the right to decline any inquiry if it is not feasible for the bakery.

  • Do you accommodate food allergies?

Yes! We label all major allergens on each of our treats, and also offer gluten-free, dairy-free, and egg-free options in our menu. All items do not contain nuts of any kind unless otherwise noted in the item description.

All of our treats are prepared in individual batches of a single flavor/item at a time. Our kitchen safely stores our ingredients to maintain their freshness and quality, and responsibly separates major food allergens, and gluten-free ingredients.

Please see the Ingredients & Allergen guide on the menu page for the ingredients and allergens that may be present in each flavor.

We are also happy to try to work with any other allergies you may have too - just let us know through the contact form !

Do you have vegan/gluten free options?

Yup! Check them out in our menu. psst ‘Banana Chai’ is both - and a fave!

What kind of ingredients do you use?

At Lighten Up Bakeshop, every ingredient is important and has its place. We strive to use whole/minimally processed ingredients that are as clean as they can be without artificial ingredients and preservatives.

We do not use inflammatory ingredients such as: Bleached flour, refined sugar, corn syrup, canola/vegetable/hydrogenated oils, artificial flavorings/colors, and artificial sweeteners.

Sugar/sweetness is an essential, yet controversial, element of baked treats. To balance sugar levels, we use a blend of natural, unrefined/raw sugars, like coconut sugar (which does not taste like coconuts!), combined with naturally-derived, zero-sugar sweeteners, such as stevia and monk-fruit.

A complete list of ingredients for each menu item can be found in the Ingredient & Allergen Guide on the menu, and also on their respective packaging.

“Stevia” and “monk-fruit” ? Will I taste them??

Stevia is a zero-sugar/zero-calorie sweetener that is derived from the extract of the stevia plant. Monk-fruit is a fruit with a potent sweetness similar to that of sugar once extracted and dried; monk-fruit sweeteners are usually mixed with erythritol, a naturally-occurring compound also used as a sweetener, and both are zero-sugar/zero-calorie as well. These sweeteners are NOT artificial chemical sweeteners, like Splenda and Sweet 'n Low, and work best as partial sugar substitutes.

However, not all stevia and monk-fruit products are the same - many options in the market contain fillers, and have a strong, unpleasant aftertaste. Lighten Up Bakeshop uses quality, good-tasting brands for these products, specifically NOW Foods and Lakanto; these sweeteners are used in moderation in our baked treats to not add any intrusive flavors or aftertaste. We do not use these sweeteners as a complete replacement for sugar - only to lift up the sweetness a bit from the overall reduced sugar content.

Do you offer anything other than Muff'ns?

We will soon! Keep up with this website, or sign-up for the Lighten Up Bakeshop newsletter below to receive updates on new treat drops!

  • Ordered more baked treats than you can handle all at once? Preserve their freshness with the following storage options:

    Room Temperature

Store in an airtight container* for up to 2-3 days.

    Refrigerator

Store in an airtight container* for up to 4-5 days.

Freezer (This method works best upon receiving your treats - and with some self-control)

Wrap treats individually in plastic food wrap, seal in a freezer-safe ziplock bag, then store in the freezer for up to 2 months.

When you are ready to enjoy your now-frosty-treats, remove them from the freezer, take them out of their bag(s) and wrapper(s), and seal them in a new ziplock bag. Let thaw at room temperature for at least 2-3 hours or overnight, unbag, and eat!

*Plastic ziplocks work great! Just deflate as much air as possible before sealing it.
